An arts non profit based in Indianapolis, they’re dedicated to presenting art and culture to everyone.
TUBE FACTORY ARTSPACE
Big Car’s newest building and home base, the Tube is an art and community space located in Garfield Park, just south of downtown Indianapolis. Across their campus are three galleries adjacent to an artist residency program.
PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
Big Car makes a serious investment in the communities of Indianapolis, making neighbors and neighborhoods a focus of their work. Some of my favorite public engagement has been the various murals Big Car has sponsored and executed. But another huge project of theirs has been the ongoing creative placemaking work in downtown Indianapolis on Monument Circle and at Historic City Market.
LISTEN HEAR
A sound art gallery founded by Big Car Collaborative with John Collins McCormick and currently curated by Oreo Jones. It’s mission is to present treats for the ears.
The Wagon of Wonders
A mobile wagon used to bring art and learning to communities all over.
BIG CAR PARTNERS
No non profit is complete without their partnering initiatives. Two of the main partners for Big Car have been Reconnecting to Our Waterways (a science based organization focused on the health of river systems in Indiana) as well as the community recreational league Indy City Futbol.
